I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. @rachrodgersesq posed a question in her book that woke something up in me. The question essentially got me thinking “What would I do to be a badass?” Or “Who am I as a badass?”

And one thing that became very clear is that I am NOT walking in my truth or living in my purpose. And it’s reflecting in every aspect of my life. A big part of who I am is helping others be great. That’s why I’m here in this space. That’s why I started blogging. That’s why it’s been a slow progression.

But the vision has become oh-so-clear. A flame has been lit. And something is on fire. Life’s more than just existing. It’s really about living.

The word is that you’re the sum of the 5 people you surround yourself with the most. I often keep that in the forefront of my brain and have become very selective of the people I spend the most time with.
My company shares common goals and common minds. We’re all on journeys to be financial free with some retired before 35. 😳 They’re the people in my life I didn’t know I needed.

I really want you to think about it. Are you showing up as her (or him because I don’t discriminate) EVERY. SINGLE. DAY? Most aren’t and that’s ok. Life is a journey and I do believe that as long as you keep your eye on the end goal…it’s only a matter of time. I believe we can be great because WE believe that we can. It first starts with YOU and what you tell yourself. Believe that!

Most people despise Mondays because it’s the day back to work after only being off 2 days. That’s not my reality because of how my schedule works, but I get it.

One of the most important things I’ve learned over the past year is “the rich don’t work for money”. I use to be in the crowd that said, “Tax the rich more because we’re already struggling.” Now I fully understand why that statement won’t work. It’s because you can’t tax those who don’t work.

Ponder that as you move through your work week. In order to get something more than you have, you have to be willing to do something more than you’re doing. And trust me, I’m preaching to myself on that one too.

I remember in 2019 realizing I had a $20K credit card. Like how the hell did I let that happen? Truthfully, I’d consolidated but nonetheless that big balance stared at me every month. It was an important time and I realized how my mental affected my spending habits. When I was bored, I shopped. When I was tired, I shopped. I have so many things in my home that I’ve not ever used that it’s pretty ridiculous. I know I’m not alone in it either. ⁠

So now I encourage others to tend to their finances as part of #selfcare because your finances are just that important. I’m learning to do the exact opposite of what everyone else is doing when it comes to money so I can get a different outcome. ⁠

The goal is WEALTH and while everyone doesn’t have that goal, it’s because they haven’t met me yet. #wealthbuilder ⁠

I decided a long time ago that I didn’t want to be average. I was the “average” student who did exceptionally well with little effort. I carried that with me into adulthood. Then I came to a crossroad in life where I had to make a decision. Was I going to go big or go home? ⁠

Now I imagine what I can accomplish if I truly give it everything I’ve got. I didn’t use to dream at all. Now I have larger than life dreams. Wealth is a mindset before it’s a reality. It feels good here. ⁠

When I think of consistency, I think @themattiejames for obvious reasons. At one point she talked about it and it was when I realized nothing about my life is consistent. My work schedule, inconsistent. My day to day routines, inconsistent. Parenting style, inconsistent. Spending habits, inconsistent. Sexy time with hubs, inconsistent. Don’t judge me. ⁠

Recently, I finished a book by @seekwisdompcw called “Redefining Wealth for Yourself”. Whilst I will be wealthy, it talks about everything else that makes me wealthy that has nothing to do with money. If you haven’t read it, I HIGHLY suggest it….and her podcast…..and her facebook group. By the end, I realized just how my inconsistency affected every part of my life. Essentially I was just a HOT. ASS. MESS and miserable. ⁠

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be rigidly consistent because I like flexibility. But I encourage you to take a look at your life and see where you can make some changes that improve your life. Example: for me I do better when I work out first thing in the morning, so I work on getting up at the same time when I’m not working. Baby steps! Successful people have routines. Lets get us some because we’re only going UP. #thankmelater ⁠

Start before you’re ready. And I’m saying it with my chest. Trust, I said it to myself too. I wasn’t showing up for myself because I thought I had to be perfect. I thought everything had to be perfect. They call it “analysis paralysis”. I’m learning to stop overthinking and just do it. @nike got that right for sure. Here’s what has helped me.⁠

Step 3: Sleep on it. ⁠
Step 4: Just do it. ⁠

Ok so maybe there’s more to it than that but all in all I want you to stop stifling your growth. You are better than you think. And I know that for a fact. If you needed a sign, this was it. #thankmelater ⁠

And I’m not just talking about dating and marriage. As cliche as it sounds, relationships are all around us. I don’t take them for granted BUT I also don’t put more into them than the other person. All relationships are two way streets. With life as consuming as it is (at least for myself), no one gets any passes from me. We’re busy too. Am I right? If I can make time, so can the next person. Don’t be that person missing out because you’re “too busy”.⁠

Gon head and give someone a quick call or text just to remind them how important they are to you. It could be the message or call they need at that moment. We gon be #lifesavers around here. {random: do they still make lifesaver candy?}⁠
