Feel like you always need to be in control? ⁣ I Feel like you always need to be in control?
⁣
It wasn’t until recently that I realized a lot of my strife around motherhood was the fact that I didn’t feel in control. How was it so that my children didn’t respond like I thought they should? They weren’t meeting my expectations.
⁣
But did I have too high expectations? Yes. Did I feel like my controlling way is damaging to my children? Yes.
⁣
I’m learning to take days as they happen. I’ve started being realistic with the fact that my children are growing beings not expected to act like adults.
⁣
My job is to teach them and constantly being triggered by their youth is damaging behavior. I don’t always get it right, but I’m constantly working on it. Surely I’m not alone in it.
⁣
What’s the best parenting advice you’ve received? Or what’s the worst? 👀

Want to know a secret? ⁣ One of the unique thin Want to know a secret?
⁣
One of the unique things about me is that I consider myself an empath. I didn’t know the term existed until last year when listening to a video on-line. Then I had an ah-ha moment.
⁣
Here are a few things that make me an empath:
⁣
1. I have strong intuition. I’m learning to trust my gut because it’s usually spot op about people and things. Learning to follow it has led to a more peaceful life.
⁣
2. I get overwhelmed with crowds. So I’m definitely not the person controlling the room. I want to be noticed as little as possible and usually after being in a large crowd, I retreat to being alone. But I’ve learned I’m not an introvert.
⁣
3. People tell me everything and I do mean everything (even strangers). I’m a walking diary for people. 😳It’s true. I’m also an excellent listener.
⁣
There’s so many more but I won’t bore you with the details. 😉At least not today.
⁣
What’s something unique about you?

The most impactful sentence I ever heard... ⁣ wa The most impactful sentence I ever heard...
⁣
was “You don’t have to choose.” And whilst I know it to be true, I still find it so hard to do both. Being a full-time working mom learning the world of entrepreneurship is challenging. How do I do it? I remember my WHY.
⁣
My family is the reason I work so hard. In creating #financialfreedom I gain unlimited time with them.
⁣
I use to wonder how people put careers before a family but now I understand. If you’re a businesswoman mom, you are doing an amazing job. Trust me, the men couldn’t do it better. 😉
⁣
Remember your why! For me, my why is my husband. My why is my children. My why is me. I’m choosing freedom for us every. Single. Day and that’s what keeps me going on the hard days. That’s what keeps me going when I want to stop.
⁣
Like me, that light at the end of the tunnel is all the freedom. You got it.
⁣
Tag a working mom building something for her family so she knows you thought about her. And maybe, just maybe, someone can leave some words of encouragement. Because we all need them.

Truth bomb ahead. ⁣ Some people should stop liv Truth bomb ahead.
⁣
Some people should stop living mediocre lives. 🤷🏽‍♀️It must be said. I don’t know about y’all but C’s were not aloud in my house when I was a child. One day recently I had to g-check myself. Why was I living an average life when I had to be more than average in school? Did I not deserve a more than average life?
⁣
I meet so many talented people hiding in fear because they’re primed to and never reaching their full potential. Damn that!!! We should all be revved up every day to be above average....extraordinaire.
⁣
I impress upon you to carry that as you journey through your week. I don’t know who told you that (you’re average), but you are so much more than average. Act as such.
What is your power word for 2021? ⁣ While some What is your power word for 2021?
⁣
While some have chosen to take 2021 day by day, I did choose a word.
⁣
Mine is growth. I want to make sure that regardless of what’s going on in the world, that I’m growing in every way. I need my money to grow. I need my mind to grow. You get it...every thing.
⁣
Seeing my “Top 9” is so inspirational. It inspires me to keep going and not give up. It helps me see that when I show up for myself, people show up for me. So thank you all for your 23k lives and 4.7k comments. It’s definitely a start and with the GROWTH to come, I can’t wait for 2022.
⁣

If you have a word, please share below. Let’s keep each other encouraged.

Ready to get your wig snatched? 👀 ⁣ I don’t Ready to get your wig snatched? 👀
⁣
I don’t know who this is for but.....you have to put yourself first. It’s a process. Trust me, I know. Doing it happens to be my greatest achievement of 2020.
⁣
How‘s I do it?
⁣
1. I started seeing a therapist. Am I shamed? Absolutely not. I hope sharing that helps you know it’s ok if it’s what you feel you need. I feel therapy is a good choice for me because health is wealth and that includes mental. We can’t ask for abundance and not be in the right mind frame to receive it. At least I don’t want to be.
⁣
2. I started waking up early some days. When you’re a busy mom at home all day with 3 kiddos, sometimes those early morning hours are the only peace and quiet hours you get. Take advantage sometimes.
⁣
3. I started taking my health more seriously. I had #gestationaldiabetes with my last two pregnancies. Having gestational diabetes means you’re likely to develop diabetes in the future. And with a heaviest weight in 2020 of 242, I wasn’t helping myself. I’m currently 215. Exercising has been one of the greatest things for me. It helps my mood and gives me energy.
⁣
Small progress is still progress. I’m proud of myself for putting me first. Not doing so was making me bitter.
⁣
What is YOUR greatest achievement in 2020?
⁣

No cap. Quite literally No cap. Quite literally
I cried the day I found out I was having a girl. 😳
⁣
While it started as tears of disbelief, it quickly turned to tears of joy. So please don’t worry. {it was mostly in part because I didn’t know how to do hair}.
⁣
Now I have a whole different set of worries for her.
⁣
Today is #humantraffickingawareness day, where girls and women continue to go unnoticed being forced into a life no one would want. {sidebar: January is actually “National Slavery and Human Trafficking” month}
⁣
If you know a female, which we all do, it’s our duty to be aware. In today’s condition it should be no surprise that black women account for more than half those affected by human trafficking (62% to be exact). If you’re non-black does that give you a pass? No. We’re counting on you too like always.
⁣
We must all do our part. Because today it’s them but tomorrow it could be you or me. Let’s band together on this one if not on much more.
⁣
If you suspect human trafficking, call 911, dial 1-888-373-7888, or txt HELP to 233733.
