I think we’re all guilty of judging others significantly more than we judge ourselves. Do you agree or disagree?

I’m learning to catch myself when I think I want to have a judgmental thought of someone because guess what, they don’t need my opinions especially if they didn’t ask me and they shouldn’t care what I think. Damn, that was a run-on sentence but you get what I’m saying, right?
⁣
I’m learning to appreciate that some people are silently going through things that I know nothing about. And either I can be part of the problem or part of the solution.
⁣
Let’s take that into the week with us.

When you find yourself judging others, stop and think if that judgement helps them in any way. Better yet, does judging them help you.

Ever want something but was afraid to do it simply because you feared the execution..the process? Yea, me too.

But I’m here to tell you that there’s no guarantee that you will fail. Your failure is in never starting. Tuh!

Here are 3 ways to get started:

1. Put it (whatever you want to do) on paper and tape it to your bathroom mirror.
2. Put it on your calendar (the date you choose to do it by).
3. Set it as your Home Screen on your phone (serves as a constant reminder).

When something’s in your face, you’re more apt to tend to it.

I didn’t use to understand how someone could have a $20k credit card balance. But the Lord said, “Let me show you how.” 😒 He’s funny like that, ya know?

The word I want you to carry this week is SETTLE.

The other day I was listening to a podcast (@seekwisdompcw) which I’d highly recommend by the way if you’re interested in being wealthy in every aspect of your life.

The one word that I felt I kept hearing with a bullhorn was SETTLE.

Do you feel that there are areas in your life where you SETTLE? It’s ok to be honest. Let me know in the comments.

It resonated with me in so many ways. I’ve settled for relationships (in general) where the other person clearly wasn’t giving as much as I. I’ve settled in jobs where I feel unappreciated. I’ve settled for bad service in restaurants. I’ve settled for food that didn’t taste good. You get the point. Just SETTLED.

Well today, we stop settling. Yes we because I am you and you are me. We’re sisters (or brothers because I don’t discriminate) traveling through life together. We stop settling because we know our worth and know we deserve more and then some.

Affirmation of the week: I will not settle for less than I deserve.

I frequently question why some people treat themselves the way that they do. It ultimately boils down to the fact that they don’t honor themselves.

Recently, I discovered that motherhood doesn’t meet the expectations I’d dreamed of, which is why I’m struggling in that department. Parenting is hard AF and that’s not something people put on those cute “words of encouragement” at any baby shower.

I envy people with a whole, POSITIVE, village out there. 😩The breaks from parenting are so necessary.
⁣
I started out set to be a mommy blogger but the more time passes, I’m reminded that I do NOT want to lose myself in motherhood.
⁣
Any other woman ever having these thoughts? How are you ensuring that you know who you are when your kids are older and leaving home?

Motherhood sucks and is lonely sometimes, but I wouldn’t be without them for the world.

I grew up watching Lifetime movies with my mom. Didn’t we all? I, too, remember watching “What’s Love Got to do with It” at a much too young age. Imagine all those battered women.

In the last few years I’ve learned of boundaries and love languages and all the things that improve relationships. In learning what’s healthy, I’ve also learned what’s toxic.
⁣
I definitely grew up watching women, some I knew and some I didn’t, tolerate abuse that no ones deserves.
⁣
Did you know that it’s #domesticviolenceawarenessmonth ?
⁣
Abuse was an epidemic pre-Covid and now it’s worse for women and children as they’re forced to spend more time with their abusers.
⁣
Reach out and keep in touch with friends possibly in threatening situations. Don’t be a bystander and watch a friend tolerate abuse of any kind (financial, emotional, physical, etc).
⁣
That boyfriend I thought didn’t love me because he didn’t hit me is now my husband. It wasn’t until the last year that I was able to verbalize the toxic way I had thought. I absolutely would’ve tolerated it at that time because I thought it was how it was suppose to be.

I can’t say it’s crazy because so many people feel this way. I’m grateful that he didn’t ever live up to those expectations. 🙏🏽

Let’s teach our daughters otherwise not just by what we say but what we tolerate too. They’re watching us. One time is too many.

I have a zero tolerance policy for abuse and you should too. And know I #pullup for my friends and am constantly #listeningfromhome.
